HDI Motown assists us in springing into the intern season with a panel discussion regarding Summer Internships, Co-Ops, and Mentoring the next generation! Some of the many topics that will be discussed are:
- Creating a learning opportunity for all involved
- Time and financial investments needed to run a successful program
- Pitfalls to avoid
- The burning questions raised by you!

Jarrod Sandel is an IT Service Desk Manager for Michigan Medicine, formerly known as the University of Michigan Health System (UMHS). He holds an MBA from Eastern Michigan University and has been in IT for fifteen years. At Michigan Medicine, Jarrod has helped to lead campus relations and student engagement for over five years.
Lisa Callihan is the IT Customer Experience Manager at the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan. Prior to working for LSA IT, Lisa worked in Information and Technology Services, the central IT provider for the University for 10 years as the Service Desk Manager and the Incident and Knowledge Management Process Owner.
A graduate of Wayne State University with a BA in Psychology, Lisa spent 15 years in Technical Support and Help Desk Management before joining the UM IT community. Lisa has earned ITIL v3 Foundations, ITIL v3 Support & Restore Practitioner and HDI Support Center Manager certifications. Lisa previously served as an Officer for the HDI Motown local chapter as VP of Communications.
GM Massey is currently with the State of Michigan DTMB Network & Telecommunications Services Division. He has experience recruiting MAT2 students and has placed many students in unique selections with mentors throughout DTMB.
DePriest Dockins is the Assistant Director for Identity and Access Management in Information and Technology Services. He leads the ITS Summer Internship Program in ITS.
